Established in 2016, Rumble Records mission statement has remained clear. The Lahti based drum & bass imprint has remained on the scene’s
grassroots since they first began releasing music, picking out the most promising newcomers for an ever-growing back catalogue of music. This time round they’ve enlisted PoLEEtox into their ranks, bringing 5 fresh tracks for his ‚No Sleep EP‘, a set of records which will define both his discography and the label’s. An artist who is just beginning to create his own decorated history, the merging of Rumble Records and PoLEEtox has resulted in a release of epic proportions. It demonstrates not just PoLEEtox’s promise as an artist, but also the label’s building reach for talent across the wider drum & bass circuit.
The title-track ‚No Sleep‘, rolls out first. A liquid cut which draws the reader through its clicking synths and mesmerising note patterns, PoLEEtox demonstrates why he came under the radar of label head Destroy. Cutting drum patterns helps to propel the track, giving the perfect foundations to every softly spoken beat pattern which drifts through the mix. Up next is ‚Nothing Lasts Forever‘, moving through skittering percussion and note arpeggios, once again channelling the same luscious undertones as its predecessor. The sonic edge on each tinkling of piano adds to PoLEEtox’s musicality, proving his skills as a multi-faceted artist. The whirling bassline makes itself more prominent part way through the composition, holding itself to distinction against the track’s softer elements.
‚Warm Summer Night‘ moves across with a similar motion, sounding into life with a carefully laid out melody which continues deep into the record. Female vocal samples filter between its elements, unwinding itself across a delicate soundscape. It’s the soundscape which PoLEEtox has found his signature style within, conjuring it for every one of the offerings he lays down for this EP. ‚On The Way‘ platforms the same talent, with uplifting vibes held tightly together by grafted hooks and weighty drums. The fifth track comes in the form of ‚True Love‘, with winding synth notes pulling you into its tinny drums and percussive undertones. Weaving in and out of its strident tuning, ‚True Love‘ creates the perfect balance between instrumentals and sonic engineering. PoLEEtox pedestals his diversity with the last track – adding to an already impressive array of records which highlight why all eyes will be on him in the coming months.
